Sunday, March 02, 2003 New Order for Refuse Collection Vehicles for Beira in Northern MozambiqueThe Municipio da Beira of Mozambique have selected us to supply 3 IVECO EuroCargo MLC150E21H chassis cabs to be fitted with 2 TFM Industries SkipMaster CH503/8 Series skip loaders and a WasterMaster M160 Rear Compaction body.
The order also includes 27 refuse skips of which 25 will be supplied in CKD format. The local people in Beira will be given instruction in the assembly of the skips and in this manner some local employment will be generated within Mozambique. Plans will also be supplied so that any further production of skips can be undertaken locally. This transfer of technology not only benefits the people of Mozambique in terms of employment generated but also allows them to save precious foreign exchange. Spare parts are being supplied to the Municipal Council to ensure adequate and ongoing servicing of the vehicles and instruction and training is also provided at the time of delivery. Further pictures of the vehicles en route and in Beira will be available soon. The delivery route is long and complex since the serious floods have caused serious damage to the road infrastructure in Mozambique. The route to be followed from South Africa is through Mutare in Zimbabwe and on to Beira. |
